Media Parking And Regulations

The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB) works to protect the Statehouse building and grounds while providing easy
access by the news media. Please use the following information for your convenience and for the protection of this historic property.
Engineering Truck Parking
Marked engineering trucks and vans weighing
less than 5,000 pounds are welcome to park on the sidewalk on the High Street (west) side of the
Statehouse. As a courtesy to your colleagues, these areas may be used for parking only when covering events
in the Statehouse, Senate
Building or on the grounds.
This area is for LIVE trucks only. All passenger news vehicles must be parked in the Statehouse parking
garage or other adjacent parking lots.
Please do not double park to allow for pedestrian foot traffic.
Please do not drive over curbs. Use handicapped access ramps at the corners of State and High Streets and Broad and High Streets to drive
on and off the sidewalks. Please do not drag or rub cabling against retaining walls, pillars or statuary as it leaves black marks that your
station will be charged the cost to remove.
Stations using trucks that
weigh more than 5,000 pounds, should notify Luke Stedke, CSRAB Communications and Marketing Manager, in
advance so special parking may be arranged in the Third Street bus loading zone. Contact
lstedke@csrab.state.oh.us
or call 614/728-2130.
Media truck parking is
NOT permitted on the Third Street sidewalks in front of the Senate Building. Special arrangements may be made to
allow media parking for vehicles weighing more than 5,000 pounds in the bus loading zone by contacting Luke Stedke at 614/728-2130.
Responsibility for Damages
News stations will be responsible for the cost to repair any damages incurred by station staff and apparatus to the Statehouse and Senate
buildings, contents of the buildings, garage or grounds.
