Ohio Statehouse Parking Available for Red, White and Boom

Visitors to Red, White and Boom on July 3, 2008 are invited to park in the Ohio Statehouse underground parking garage. The convenient and reasonably priced parking garage is a short walk to the viewing area. More than 1,000 public parking spaces will be available during the event. After 6 p.m. on Thursday, parking is $3.00 for the first four hours and $4.00 for 4 to12 hours. The Statehouse parking garage can accommodate vehicles under 6'6' in height. The Statehouse is located in downtown Columbus on High and Broad Streets. Vehicles can access the Statehouse garage from Broad, State or Third Streets (there are no High Street entrances). The Ohio Statehouse is more than just a monument to our past…it is where history happens! The Ohio Statehouse is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free guided tours are offered Monday through Friday on the hour from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from noon until 3 p.m. Tours depart from the 3rd Street Information Desk. The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board is responsible for maintaining the historic character of the Statehouse and Capitol Square while providing for the health, safety and convenience of those who work in or visit the complex. The Ohio Statehouse Museum Education Center coordinates tours of Capitol Square and provides information about the buildings, their history and Ohio's government.
