Delaware
The Delaware County flag was designed by Mrs. Stewart Caudill in 1972. Her design was the winning entry in a contest sponsored by the Delaware Jaycees. This blue flag features a circular gold chain surrounding the name of the county and the date it was established. The nineteen links of the chain show the names of townships in Delaware County. The county was named after the Delaware tribe of Native Americans who were from the Delaware River area of Pennsylvania.
