Seasons at the Statehouse

The majestic public spaces of the Ohio Statehouse lend themselves to formal dinners, receptions, weddings and galas
especially during the summer months and during the holiday season in November and December.
During summer months, imagine cocktails on the North and South terraces just outside the Atrium with a view of the
park-like grounds and the lights of Capitol Square. Then regroup inside the Atrium for dinner, dessert and dancing.
By mid-November, the Capitol dresses up for the winter holidays in Victorian era garlands, wreaths and greens adorned
with sugar-glazed fruits, shiny objects, dried flowers and other period embellishments.
Your holiday gala committee will need practically no budget for decorations. Start your event with cocktails at
twilight in the Rotunda surrounded by marble balustrades wrapped with garlands of green and regally colored satin
ribbons. Envision dinner held at the base of a 25-foot Victorian Christmas tree decorated with hand-made faux candles
and thousands of bits of lace, dried flowers, jewelry and other items Victorians used to adorn their trees.
