Arbor Day & Ohio State Highway Patrol
Located on the South Plaza (State Street)

Arbor Day 1932 was observed on April 1 and honored George Washington. Many ceremonies took place, including the planting of a walnut tree from Washington's Mount Vernon plantation by Governor George White. The tree later died, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol replaced it with another to commemorate their 75th anniversary in 2008.
