Cox - James M. Cox
Governor James M. Cox, born in Jacksonburg, Ohio on March 31, 1870, ran in the 1920 President Election with Franklin D. Roosevelt as his running mate. Cox served as Ohio’s Governor from 1917 until 1921, overseeing changes to the state court system, state budgeting, and tax processes. Cox was also known for working to mobilize support for the American war effort during World War I. Cox died in Kettering, Ohio on July 15, 1957. Governor James M. Cox was mas a Great Ohioan in 2010.
