THIS AMERICAN ELM

WAS PLANTED AND PRESENTED TO THE

STATE OF OHIO

IN HONOR OF

GOVERNOR MARTIN L. DAVEY

BY ON THOUSAND EMPLOYEES OF THE

DAVEY TREE EXPER CO.

OF KENT, OHIO.

IT IS A LIVING TRIBUTE TO A GREAT STATE AND TO A KINDLY MAN, WHO ALTHOUGH CALLED AWAY FROM HIS EMPLOYEES TO SERVE HIS STATE AS COVERNOR FROM 1938 TO 1939, STILL RETAING THEIR CONSTANT, DEEP AFFECTION AND LOYALTY THROUGH HIS MANY ACTS OF THOUGHTFUL CONSIDERATION.
