The Society of Mayflower Descendants presented this plaque to the State of Ohio on May 27, 1933. Similar plaques can be found in Providence, Rhode Island, and Augusta, Maine. The Society - still in existence - is a limited group of members with proven lineal descent of passengers aboard the Mayflower, who landed in Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1620.
