Saxbe, William B.
Located on the North Plaza (Broad Street)

The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board planted a Buckeye tree on April 28, 2011, in honor of William B. Saxbe, the former Ohio House speaker, Ohio attorney general, U.S. senator, U.S. attorney general and U.S. ambassador. The tree planting was part of the annual Statehouse Arbor Day program. Referring to the U.S. Senate, he told TIME Magazine in 1973, "The first six months I kept wondering how I got here. After that, I started wondering how all of them did."
