Biography

Rose Vesper was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated with a B.A. from Xavier University and an M.A. from Midwestern University. She was a school teacher for eight years before entering the state legislature in 1992.

 

While in the Ohio House of Representatives, Vesper owned and operated a 230-acre farm of alfalfa, cattle, and tobacco. She served on the various committees in the Ohio House, including:

- Agriculture and Natural Resources,

- Finance and Appropriations,

- Agriculture and Development Subcommittee,

- Health,

- Retirement and Aging,

- Energy and Environment, and

- Local Government and Townships.

 

Vesper's civic activities included the Ohio Farm Bureau, the Clinton-Clermont-Brown chambers of commerce, the Farmers Union, and the Clermont County Cooperative Extension Board of Advisors. She is the 1990 recipient of the Ohio Cooperative Extension Agents Association Award, the Ohio League of Young Republicans Frances Bolton Award, the Clermont County Farm Woman of the Year award, and the Ohio Medical Political Action Committee Distinguished Service Award.
