Biography

Madeline Cain represented Cuyahoga County for three terms in the Ohio House of Representatives. She resigned in December of 1995 after she was elected mayor of Lakewood. During her time in the Ohio General Assembly, she held appointments to the following Ohio House Committees:

-Aging and Housing,

-Children and Youth,

-Insurance,

-Local Government,

-Transportation and Urban Affairs,

-Ways and Means,

-Finance and Appropriations,

-Development Subcommittee, and

-Judiciary and Criminal Justice.

 

Cain had been active in many civic and political organizations; some of these include: Lakewood Business and Professional Women, Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, Cudell Neighborhood Improvement Inc., West Boulevard Neighborhood Association, Citizen's League of Greater Cleveland, Cuyahoga County Women's Political Caucus, Lakewood Democratic Club, City Club, Cuyahoga County Democratic party, and the Ohio Women's Policy and Research Commission.
