Biography

Prior to her election to the House of Representatives in 2009, Baker dedicated 18 years to the West Shore Chamber of Commerce serving as past president and member of the board of trustees. She also was elected as a member of the Westlake Board of Education and served three terms on the Westlake City Council.

 

She is also an active member of Westlake Kiwanis, Westlake/North Olmsted League of Women Voters, Westside Professional Women's Connection, Westlake Republican Club, Westlake/West Shore Arts Council and the Lakewood Elks. Representative Baker has been honored with numerous awards throughout her career in public service. In 1999, she was named Honored Woman of the Year by the Westlake/North Olmsted League of Women Voters. She has also been given the Cleveland State University David C. Sweet Award bestowed on distinguished alumni for elected service and the West Shore Chamber of Commerce Hugh Dawson Award in recognition of outstanding service to the business community.

 

Baker holds an associate degree in business from Lorain County Community College, a Bachelor of Arts from Baldwin Wallace College and is a graduate of the Leadership Academy of Cleveland State University's College of Urban Studies.
