If you have questions regarding the grants, please contact Dayna Jalkanen at 614-728-2697 or djalkanen@ohiostatehouse.org. The Capitol Square Foundation has created a transportation grant program with a generous gift from the Honda of America Mfg., Inc. The program is designed to help schools defray bus transportation expenses to the Ohio Statehouse Museum Education Center. The grants are based on one-way mileage from your school to Columbus. The 2017/2018 transportation grant application will be available Tuesday, September 12 at 9 a.m. The application is not available prior to this date.

Please thoroughly read the information below, and then complete the online application. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Funds are limited, and all grants are approved on a first-come, first-served basis. The grant funds are issued as reimbursements after your visit is completed.

Who Can Apply?

Any Ohio school that receives state funding can apply. However, grants are limited to Ohio students in the 4th through 12th grades during the 2017/2018 school year. Classes below the 4th grade are not eligible. Only one grant will be awarded to each school regardless of the number of buses or students. Grant applicants must have a minimum of 20 people in their group in order to receive transportation funding.

Where Do I Apply?

Applications must be submitted, online, through this page of the Ohio Statehouse website by an authorized teacher or school administrator. Only online applications are accepted. To optimize the performance of the Ohio Statehouse website, CSRAB recommends individuals use the Google Chrome web browser.
