The Great Ohioan Award was created in 2003 to commemorate the significant role of Ohioans in an event or series of events of lasting significance to the world, American or Ohio history. The Capitol Square Review & Advisory Board will install an exhibit in the Map Room of the Ohio Statehouse to honor past recipients of the Great Ohioan Award. Artifacts on loan from the collections of the Ohio History Connection will highlight Great Ohioans: Jerrie Mock, Bob Feller, Salmon Chase, Washington Gladden, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Rufus Putnam, President Ulysses S. Grant, and Don Gentile. The exhibit will run from October 6, 2017 to January 4, 2018.
