Description

Black History Month at the Ohio Statehouse

The Ohio Statehouse will celebrate Black History Month throughout February with a special exhibition and free historical performances each Tuesday at noon.

Live performances by “We’ve Known Rivers”

We’ve Known Rivers is a group of dynamic storytellers that commemorate the African American experience in American history through engaging first-person presentations. Each performance will take place at noon in the Atrium.

 

Feb 5- “Phillis Wheatley,” portrayed by Sandra Quick

Feb 12- “John Parker,” portrayed by Anthony Gibbs

Feb 19- “Henry ‘Box’ Brown,” portrayed by Rory Rennick

Feb 26- “George Washington Williams,” portrayed by Anthony Gibbs
