This exhibit is planned to be installed in February, as weather permits.
Smokey Bear is featured in an exhibit at the Ohio Statehouse. Artwork replicas and memorabilia illustrate the history of Smokey Bear and his important message.
The exhibit is presented by the ODNR Division of Forestry. The collection is on loan from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture National Agriculture Library in Washington, D.C.
Smokey Bear was created in 1944 in response to conditions in World War II. Artist Rudy Wendelin brought this popular symbol to life while working for the U.S. Forest Service.
Remember, only you can prevent forest fires!
