This 2001 bronze sculpture by Ed Dwight depicts Representative George Washington Williams. Williams was the first African-American elected to the Ohio General Assembly in 1879. This bust is located in the George Washington Williams Memorial at the Ohio Statehouse. Note: The artist Ed Dwight of Denver, Co., was the first African-American astronaut trainee.
