Biography

Bertha Huston was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and moved to Ohio upon her marriage to Ray Huston. Her husband was a state representative from Henry County. Bertha Huston ran for her husband's seat upon his death and served in the Ohio House of Representatives for four consecutive terms. Among the House committees on which she served were:

-Conservation,

-Education, and

-Election.

 

A resident of Napoleon, Bertha Huston was a 50-year member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, a past noble grand and 50-year member of Rebekah Lodge, and a pianist. She managed the Napoleon Steam Laundry prior to serving in the Ohio House.
