Biography

A passionate advocate for affordable, high quality healthcare, State Representative Beth Liston ran for office to bring her knowledge about health and the health impacts of policy to our state government.

 

Dr. Liston grew up in Worthington and attended Thomas Worthington High School.  She received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame and completed both her MD and PhD at The Ohio State University.  She finished her residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Yale New Haven Hospital.

 

Dr. Liston returned to her district and joined the faculty at OSU in 2006 where she is currently a Professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in the Division of Hospital Medicine.  Dr. Liston is a clinician educator, focusing her academic studies on developing and teaching curricula for health professional students.  She is a national leader in interprofessional collaboration, creating novel programs to teach teamwork in complex settings. Clinically, she cares for adults and children at OSU and Nationwide Children's hospital, specializing in acute care in the hospital setting.

 

Dr. Liston is serving her first term in the Ohio House, representing Dublin, Worthington and Northwest Franklin County.  She is focused on healthcare, public education, and economic development to ensure strong communities.

 

Dr. Liston lives in Dublin with her husband Denver and their two children, Madeline and Adam.
