Biography

Doris Jones was appointed to the Ohio House of Representatives in 1969 to serve in the seat of her late husband, Robert G. Jones. She was then elected to this seat in 1970. She had not served in any previous elected office. During her tenure in the state legislature, she served on the following House committees:

-Commerce and Labor, and

-Health, Education and Welfare.

 

Doris Jones' civic activities included membership in the Buckeye Republican Club, the Franklin County Women's Republican Organization, Delta Omicron National Musk Honorary, the Grandview Parent-Teacher Association, Capital City Young Republicans, and the Columbus Business and Professional Women's Club.
